About Us

My name is Megha Malhotra and I am the lead Designer Curator of Boiled Wool which has been the highlight of our collection.
My journey started when I moved to the Seattle in 2000, I am a person who has great admiration for Art & Fashion, after moving from India I would wear Pashmina shawls all the time and would have locals stop & admire my shawls.
That time in Seattle, bright color wool was not available & I had many requests to sell what I was wearing, this inspired me to sell pashminas.
After selling few pashmina's I faced a lot of competition from other vendors & realized that to be successful in the scarf business, I would have to create a line which has Unique In-house designs, thus In Style was born, I came across Boiled Wool and loved it's texture, shine & quality, it is a Fabric which is found in the Himalayan Region of India ,the process of boiling wool involves weaving the wool and then boiling it in hot water to make it soft, water resistant, non- itchy, lightweight, warm & comfortable.
Since then, I have worked with many Factories to produce this fabric as well as work with local designers to develop a line of Women's Accessories and Garments in eye catching patterns and colors, making this collection Distinctive, Elegant & Practical, therefore opening doors to more than 500 clothing stores, art galleries, specialty stores & Boutiques in the Pacific Northwest.

I now have a rep network which has taken the line from New York to Alaska, covering the east and west coast, also covering Hawaii.
We are on our way to opening orders to some of the finest stores in France, England, Canada and Australia.
Our wholesale online store can be found on Faire.com for orders within the US and Creoate for international orders.

I feel blessed to have receive love and appreciation for my passion for this fabric from all my customers, my team of artisans who work to provide the best service, Thank You!

Best Regards,
Megha Malhotra

Handwoven with Pride: Our Commitment to Craftsmanship

Samaya is a women-owned brand that evolved from In Style, founded in 2007 by Megha Malhotra. With a deep passion for textiles and a profound admiration for the artistry of handmade garments, Megha spent years traveling and exploring merino wool weaving techniques. Inspired by her journey, she set out to bring these exquisite and unique fabrics to the world.

Samaya is committed to sustainability, using handmade garments because they are eco-friendly. Our textiles are made by local artisans & are biodegradable. We aim to work in an environmentally conscious way, supporting our artisans by proving them a safe place to work as well as support their community.

Besides that, we also provide books & meals for homeless street children run by Jamghat.org a NGO in India.

Through these initiatives our designs reflect our wish to give back to the community & the earth, creating timeless pieces in harmony with nature.

The name Samaya, meaning "time" and "a sacred bond", reflects our deep appreciation of timeless elegance with nature.

This connection inspires our brand, driving our commitment to creativity and sustainability.

Each piece we create is not just a garment—it’s a story woven with care, tradition, and a love for the art of handmade craftsmanship.

MEET THE FOUNDER

I value simple sophisticated designs which are made in good quality ethically made, I believe in honesty when comes to making sure that pure merino wool does not have any other fabric being added in the name of merino.

My focus is bringing good energy at all levels and create a garment which is valued for years and therefore I believe in slow fashion.

Nurturing the community and the natural resources, has been one of my core values that run through every decision of making the collection.

My long-term goal is to be a driving force in responsible and sustainable fashion for years to come.
